Bayern Overtake Milan and Roma in Race for Ajax Fullback

Milan and Roma have been pursuing Noussair Mazraoui, but Bayern Munich upped their bid and are the clear frontrunners now. The versatile defender will be out of contract in June. Barcelona are after him as well. However, he personally shot down the Blaugrana chatter a couple of weeks ago.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bavarian powerhouse is severely outbidding the other contenders following their recent raise. His agent Mino Raiola proposed him to Serie A sides in the last couple of months. However, they do not seem willing to meet his requests.

Bayern Munich had previously offered a €10M gross salary to Mazraoui, Bild informs. Roma and Milan will likely have to look elsewhere to fill their needs on the defensive flanks. The Giallorossi could have openings on both wings. They will not retain Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal, and they might sell Matias Vina, who has been outplayed by Nicola Zalewski. Instead, the Rossoneri will likely buy out Alessandro Florenzi, but they might part ways, or loan out, Fode Ballo-Touré and seek a different backup to Theo Hernandez, Calciomercato.com informs.

On top of Mazraoui, Bayern Munich are rivaling another Italian club, Juventus, for Ryan Gravenberch. He has the same agent, and the German champions are trying to put together a packaged deal. They will have to convince Ajax in this case, as he is under contract until 2023. According to previous reports, they had tendered €25M, while the counterpart wanted €10M more. The Bianconeri have him as one of their favorite targets for the position.
