Belotti Touted for Torino Exit After Long Back and Forth

Andrea Belotti has decided to leave Torino, but it is not yet known which team he will join next. The contract of the striker runs out in June. The Granata tried to convince him to stay with multiple offers but to no avail.

As per Tuttosport, the center-forward communicated his choice to the management and his teammates yesterday. The captain will flee Turin after seven seasons. He has racked up 251 appearances and scored 113 goals.

Torino tendered three increasingly rich proposals to Belotti in the last ten months. The Italian international rejected them all and will look for a new home. He dreams of joining Milan. However, they might not add another forward this summer after securing Divock Origi, the outlet suggests.

Fiorentina, Atalanta, West Ham and Monaco are potential landing spots too. Although, Il Gallo is not in advanced talks with any club at this stage, Calciomercato reports. Monza made a serious attempt, but he is lukewarm on the destination.

The Brianzoli switched their focus onto Joao Pedro. The Cagliari cornerstone is also a candidate to replenish the Granata attack. They are eyeing Dnipro’s Artem Dovbyk as well. They might ultimately settle with buying out Pietro Pellegri and Antonio Sanabria, who were on loan last season, though.

Our Take on Belotti Leaving Torino

The timing feels off as the side would have cashed in serious money had they sold him when he was at his peak a few years back and the bids abounded. His stocks have plummeted in the last two injury-filled campaigns. It will be interesting to see whether he will be able to latch onto a bigger outfit, where he would most likely start off as a backup, or if he will have to settle for a lateral move.
