Domenico Berardi has made up his mind and wants to join Juventus as he might not have many more opportunities to move to a big club. The Bianconeri are concocting a plan to purchase him by using one of their youngsters.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Old Lady could deploy 3-4-3 more frequently in the upcoming season. Therefore, they are in the market for a winger to field opposite Federico Chiesa.
While Juventus are keen on Berardi, they are looking to orchestrate a deal with favorable terms. They’d like the formula to be a loan with an obligation to buy. They want to spend at most €18/20M and insert either Matias Soulé or Samuel Iling-Junior in the package. The Argentine starlet has offers from other Serie A sides.
The Neroverdi have so far resisted every bid. Their star drew interest primarily from Lazio this summer, but Claudio Lotito balked at this price tag considering his age.
Our Take on Juventus and Berardi
There’s probably some fire to the smoke, but the timing would be way off for Sassuolo, which would have to scramble to find a quality replacement. Moreover, the acquisition wouldn’t be aligned with what the Bianconeri have actually done this summer, signing just two cheap youngsters with potential. If they wish to utilize a trident, they should just keep the two aforementioned starlets.
