Bernardeschi Leaning Towards Extending Deal with Juventus

Federico Bernardeschi has been getting consistent playing time in the past month thanks to some injuries, and he has fared well. The winger was on the chopping block at the beginning of last summer. However, the return of Massimiliano Allegri and the Euro victory turned his fortunes around.

Since he has proven to be useful, Juventus are willing to give him a long-term contract. However, he would have to accept a 30 percent pay cut compared to his current €4M salary, Calciomercato.com reports. Bernardeschi has only a few months left on his deal. However, the parties are on good terms and are not necessarily in a rush to come to terms.

The winger recently abandoned Mino Raiola and picked Federico Pastorello, who has a few clients at Juventus. The agent addressed him to Tuttosport: “There has always been a special connection with him, and it was bound to happen sooner or later. Bernardeschi has always been a great professional and a very profound person with noteworthy courage. It was not a case that he took key PKs in the Euro. He carefully studies his diet and sleeping habits like Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo. And the two had built strong relationship.”

Pastorello weighed in on the possible extension: “We have a clear plan for the future and we are considering staying at Juventus. Bernardeschi pushed to come here when he was at Fiorentina and took ownership for the move. There have not been official contacts with the management yet. We will see.”
