It seems like Nicolo Zaniolo will not be the only player to move to Turkey from Roma, as winger Stephan El-Shaarawy is also closer to the exit door than before, with perhaps a move to Galatasaray’s arch-rivals.
As per Turkish outlet Sabah (via VoceGiallorossa), Besiktas is highly interested in luring El-Shaarawy at the end of the season, when his contract at Roma expires. Presently, there are no plans from the Giallorossi’s end to extend Il Faraone’s stay at the Stadio Olimpico, with Jose Mourinho content on benching him more often than not.

El Shaarawy wants to wait until the end of the season to evaluate his options, but the Istanbul club is eager to conclude the deal at the earliest – before the end of the transfer market in Turkey on February 18. FIFA granted the country an extension following the violent earthquake that shook both Turkey and Syria less than two weeks ago.
The 30-year-old forward has 52 goals in 211 appearances for Roma across two stints.
