Austria veteran Marko Arnautovic returns to Serie A, after having spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Inter as part of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning Nerazzurri.
Bologna have unveiled Arnautovic as their marquee summer signing this transfer window. The 32-year-old has been secured for a reported transfer fee of €3M plus €1M in bonuses on a two-year deal from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Port. He is only the fourth Austrian to play for the historic Italian club.
The striker’s transfer conditions changed during Euro 2020, due to which Bologna were forced to negotiate his transfer fee. He was originally bound to arrive on a free transfer.
His transfer was made official on August 1 and although his move was confirmed a week ago, only an official announcement from the club was deemed missing. The Rossoblu marked the occasion of this revelation with an uncanny clip that would fit well as a well-directed paranormal movie trailer.
The Stadio Renato Dall’Ara facilities appear on a noir CCTV footage that shows an apparition wandering about the stadium premises, before the Austrian marksman reveals himself.
