Having missed out on a European spot last season, Bologna are bolting around the transfer market in a bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign. Rossoblu players Riccardo Orsolini and Lewis Ferguson have been linked to the exit door, but the club is taking equal strides when it comes to potential arrivals, with Sam Beukema the latest acquisition.
The 24-year-old Dutch center-back has finalized his transfer to Emilia-Romagna from AZ Alkmaar. The defender moves on a €10M deal from the Eredivisie outfit, who have managed to acquire a player their way from the Rossoblu.

In turn, AZ have confirmed the arrival of Denso Kasius from Bologna on a four-year deal, with the right-back having spent the latter half of the previous season on loan in Austria with Rapid Wien.
Bologna sporting director Giovanni Sartori has long monitored Beukema, but could only materialize the transfer this summer. Beukema signs a contract until 2027. The Rossoblu have Hellas Verona’s Josh Doig as their next target. However, Torino are the present frontrunners, poised to take over the deal soon enough.
Beukema is Bologna’s third summer signing, after Stefan Posch from TSG Hoffenheim and Nkola Moro from Dynamo Moscow.
