Bologna Finalize Talks to Sign Swedish Talent Karlsson

Bologna are inches away from adding Swedish left winger Jesper Karlsson into their ranks after heightened contacts between the two clubs, beating the likes of Lazio and Fiorentina in the transfer race. Final talks are underway to definitively close the deal, as per latest information from Sky Italia.

The Rossoblù are understandably utilizing the full extent of their positive relationship with AZ Alkmaar, having signed center-back Sam Beukema from the Dutch outfit this window earlier last month.

The permanent transfer will cost the Emilia-Romagna natives no less than €10M as they prepare a five-year contract for the Swede. AZ will also receive a future percentage on Karlsson’s resale.

Karlsson was also tracked heavily by fellow Serie A rivals Napoli, Fiorentina, and Lazio, with the latter two being offered his services by his entourage.

The AZ forward is bound to become Bologna’s seventh summer signing following the acquisitions of Nikola Moro, Oussama El Azzouzi, Giovanni Fabbian, Stefan Posch, Dan Ndoye, and Sam Beukema.

Our Take on Karlsson to Bologna

25-year-old Karlsson is a worthy forward capable of flanking on either wing. The natural left winger can also play on the inverted role, which would provide Thiago Motta the chance to stretch his side’s play more so than usual.
