Bologna Set High Price Tag for Milan-Linked Arnautovic

Milan are looking to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic with another veteran and have zeroed in on Marko Arnautovic. The contacts with the player have been ongoing for a few weeks. However, they will have to convince Bologna to sell.

Per Corriere dello Sport (via OneFootball), even though the striker has had an injury-plagued season, the Felsinei want €10M to part ways with him. He has two more years in his contract and earns about €3M annually.

Milan are set to accelerate their pursuit of Arnautovic shortly, Calciomercato relays. The Rossoblù won’t pose a veto on his departure, but they wish to be compensated appropriately. He has bagged 9 goals in 22 appearances in 2022/2023. He’s reportedly eager to join a top team since a few of them chased after him in recent windows.

The Rossoneri could finance the acquisition through the sale of Ante Rebic. He has a €10/15M price tag and could find suitors in Bundesliga. They wouldn’t mind offloading Divock Origi too. He’s drawing from interest from England and Turkey.

Our Take on Milan and Arnautovic

Ibrahimovic has played so little that he doesn’t really need a substitute. They’d better use their budget on an elite young striker that would serve as a workhorse, allowing Olivier Giroud to transition to a more suitable part-time role. This purchase wouldn’t prevent them from adding a starlet, but it would make it a little challenging for the coach to give proper minutes to three different options considering their usual scheme.
