Bologna Star Asks to Leave After Inter Weigh Reunion

Inter touched base with Bologna to gather info about Marco Arnautovic. The Felsinei wish to keep him, but the striker wants to join a big club, as his brother and agent Daniel made clear talking to Gianluca Di Marzio.

“We received some proposals at the beginning of June. The club promised that, if we got offers from top teams, they would consider selling him, if that was his desire. This opportunity has arrived. We would like the management to understand its importance to him.”

“He would have the chance to compete at the highest levels. There were very important bids from the Premier League last summer and during the winter. We didn’t act on those out of respect for Bologna.”

Arnautovic already played a season at Inter in the past, when they won the treble, although he didn’t feature much. He has been chased also by Roma. However, the two Serie A powerhouses haven’t been able to sway Bologna.

Signing the Austrian veteran wouldn’t preclude the Nerazzurri from splurging on a younger option such as Folarin Balogun or Norberto Beto. The front office is seeking suitors for Joaquin Correa.

Our Take on Inter and Arnautovic

They could use somebody with his traits, especially should their big splash be Balogun. Bologna have been determined so far, but his brother was very direct, and Thiago Motta sided with him.
