Bologna aces Lewis Ferguson and Joshua Zirkzee are drawing suitors ahead of the January window, but Bologna have every intention of keeping their squad intact, as director Marco Di Vaio told Tuttomercatoweb.
“The latter has made the leap from any point of view: determination, hard work, and professionality. He’s showing great spirit, like when he was playing at Anderlecht. Strikers are asked to be clinical, but he’s different. I like his attitude. He’ll score as much as he needs to and add a lot of other stuff. He’s still very young.”
“We absolutely aren’t thinking about selling him. The rumors don’t amount to much. He just needs to keep playing and putting in the effort, find consistency, and help his teammates. He’s becoming a reference point. We all row in the same direction to fulfill our potential.”
After addressing Zirkzee, Di Vaio slammed the door also concerning the departures of fellow Bologna staples Ferguson and Stefan Posh.
“They won’t move, and we are on the same page with them on that. They are too important to us. However, our true strength is to have many players almost at the same level. The latter was a revelation last season.”
“I don’t read much into the remarks while they are abroad, as they get misinterpreted all the time. He knows he has to live up to his reputation now, and that’s not easy. We’re happy to have him. He’s responding and loves this club.”
