Bonaventura Discusses Future with Fiorentina amid Talks

Giacomo Bonaventura opened the scoring against Sampdoria as Fiorentina breezed past the Blucerchiati for a two-nil victory. They have picked up consecutive wins in Serie A for the first time in the campaign. The midfielder commented about the match and his contract with DAZN (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“It was a good performance. We were technically sound and exploited the chances we created. Wednesday’s fixture against Salernitana will be very important. We’ll look to recover and prepare it well. We must forge ahead and take it match by match to find our best form. Things are visibly improving, and we can still grow a lot.”

Bonaventura is tied to Fiorentina only until the end of the season.

“I told the club that I’m fine here. They seemed optimistic on the matter to me, and we will discuss it in the near future.”

The veteran has a penchant for scoring in Genoa.

“I’ve been able to hit the net a few times here. Breaking the deadlock was important and allowed us to play more serenely.”

Fiorentina gaffer Vincenzo Italiano praised Bonaventura, underling a recent tactical tweak.

“He’s the symbol of what we are trying to fix. It’s not easy when you have only a handful of practice sessions at your disposal to experiment what you have in mind.”

The Viola have titled their system from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1, with either the ex-Milan man or Antonin Barak playing in the hole rather than as box-to-box midfielders. Both have benefitted, as they have found the target in recent fixtures.
