Borussia Dortmund Midfield Outcast Offered to Milan

Mahmoud Dahoud will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of his expiring contract, and he’s been proposed to Milan by his agents, among other sides. He has starred in just six matches this season, partly due to a shoulder injury. He has been at the club since 2017.

Sporting director Sebastien Kehl officialized the news.

“He’s been out for a long time because he was hurt, and other players seized the opportunity. I’ve had a very open and honest conversation with him last week. I told him we wouldn’t extend his deal in the summer.”

Per Sport1, the Dahoud representatives quickly offered him to Leicester City, Sevilla, Milan, and Napoli. According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri are lukewarm on him at best. They plot to sign one new player in the role but have different priorities.

The reigning champions will save money by not retaining loanees, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Tiemoué Bakayoko will return to Chelsea after both teams tried to find a taker for multiple windows, sparing them the €15M option to buy. Aster Vranckx would have to become a regular, which is unlikely, for them to consider spending €12M to keep him. Sergino Dest will head back to Barcelona.

Our Take on Milan and Dahoud

Rade Krunic is a steady hand, but the Rossoneri are in trouble whenever one between Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer is missing. They definitely need to acquire a quality third starting-caliber player at the position. There will definitely be better options if they have some money to invest.
