Bournemouth Loanee Traoré Unlikely to Stay at Napoli

Hamed Traoré has had seesawing performances since joining Napoli in January and hasn’t done enough to justify picking up his €25M option to buy, at least at this stage. The Partenopei opted for this formula to evaluate him properly, SportMediaset reports (via OneFootball).

The Azzurri were cautious since he was often hurt during his time with Bournemouth. Moreover, he was coming off a bout with malaria. He had a decent start, but their recent underwhelming collective showings brought him down as well, and he didn’t stand out.

Traoré has featured eight times since joining Napoli, mostly from the start. He has yet to contribute a goal. He was yanked at half-time against Atalanta, arguably his worst at display so far. Piotr Zielinski was better off the bench.

The Scudetto holders are trying to move on from the Pole since he will transfer to Inter on a Bosman move. However, he’s still one of their top contributors in the midfield. They’ll have to retool in the summer. Two loanees, Gianluca Gaetano and Michael Folorunsho, are doing well on loan at Cagliari and Hellas Verona respectively.

Our Take on Inter and Hamed Traoré

He’s far from their main problem, but he hasn’t been great. He’s not a clean fit as a box-to-box, which creates issues since he’s not good defensively. That’s also the case for their two youngsters, but that’s neither here nor there at this stage.
