Bremer Suddenly Extends His Juventus Contract Again

Juventus have insisted that Gleison Bremer isn’t for sale this summer despite the interest from major clubs. Their stance turned into a quick contract extension even though the star center-back penned one not too long ago, Calciomercato informs.

His previous deal envisages a €60M release clause that would have come into effect in 2025. Manchester United targeted him before signing Lenny Yoro. They are pursuing Matthijs De Ligt following their newcomer’s foot injury.

Bremer posted that wanted to continue being part of the Juventus project after the signature. New coach Thiago Motta has always considered him a centerpiece. Jean-Clair Todibo is possibly arriving to partner with him and not replace him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Old Lady has increased the amount of the future release clause, although by how much hasn’t been disclosed yet. The defender had already extended his deal until 2028 last December. He tacked on an extra year.

Our Take on Juventus and Bremer

It’s nice to lock up a pillar since they are in highly uncertain times and their squad is in flux. Maybe the courtships were a little more concrete than revealed and they had to touch up his salary to remove the threat, or perhaps the parties are simply happy to stick together. It shouldn’t be a major issue, but his fit in an aggressive four-man defense is still a question mark, and he’s not the best ball handler, something that their new boss puts an emphasis on.
