Brest Director Confirms Milan Offensive Target Wants to Leave

Milan are trying to reach an agreement with Brest to acquire Romain Faivre. The attacker is pushing to join them. The director of the French club Gregory Lorenzi explained the situation in a presser: “We were very disappointed when the player told us that he would not be joining the squad for the game against Strasbourg. He wants to depart and preferred avoiding risks that could have jeopardized the transfer since there is an ongoing negotiation.”

“He refused to play, and that surprised us a lot. Brest acknowledge his choice and will respond accordingly as Faivre will be sanctioned. His behavior was not correct toward his teammates. I have no moral problems with somebody desiring to leave. There is some interest in him, but we will not give any discount. We are not happy with this kind of attitude, though. It is only up to the club to make these decisions.”

“We have rejected an official offer from Milan, and we are in talks. There are still 48 hours left, but we are still distant from sealing the deal. After what happened, we can not react instinctively, but we must think things through. There is still a chance Faivre stays at Brest, just to be clear.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman has leapfrogged Jesus Corona in the shortlist of potential additions, as the gap with Porto’s price tag is too wide. Instead, Milan offered €10M to Les Pirates, who want €15M. The Rossoneri need to up their offer to make up the difference.
