Brighton Coach De Zerbi Compares English and Italian Football

New Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has spoken out regarding the differences between English and Italian football. The former Sassuolo manager signed a four-year contract in the south of England following his one season stint at Shakhtar Donetsk.

“English football is a little different from Italian football, in some things they are better and in others worse. Certainly, the passion that exists in the stadiums here, is greater than that which is present in Italy,” he said to the microphones of Rai Sport (via Tuttomercatoweb).

He then spoke about the similarities between style of football in the two countries.

“The players live the games with more taste to play and less pressure, they play and attack even when there are no conditions. There is a little difference between us and them in this,” said the Italian.

De Zerbi has managed just 9 games for the Seagulls so far, winning three, drawing two and losing four. He will manage his next game against Charlton Athletic on 21 December in the EFL Cup Round 4, before resuming the Premier League season away at Southampton.
