Monza striker Andrea Petagna is ready to leave the club after just one season following heightened interest by Cagliari. Petagna was deemed surplus to requirements at Napoli last season by Luciano Spalletti, and the Biancorossi tapped on his services on an initial loan deal before his signing became permanent in early July.
The Milan Primavera product has been confirmed as a concrete target for Cagliari by none other than Monza chief Adriano Galliani.
“There is a negotiation in progress with Cagliari, let’s see what happens. We are looking for a first striker and a central midfielder, there will be no other operations,” he said during the presentation of his biography. (via CagliariNews24).

Bologna, Genoa, and Salernitana have also enquired with Monza about the center-forward’s availability, as have boyhood club Milan. In fact, Petagna was offered to the Rossoneri by his representatives, but negotiations failed to materialize despite Milan’s search for a striker. Monza are targeting Luis Muriel from Atalanta to replace Petagna.
