Cagliari Enter Final Stretch for Gianluca Scamacca

Surprise contenders Cagliari are reportedly in the final stretch of transfer talks to sign Sassuolo sensation Gianluca Scamacca on a one-year loan deal, according to Calciomercato.

Italian giants Juventus and Inter, who were and still are interested in the 22-year-old striker, are close to be being ousted by Cagliari for his signature. Following Giovanni Simeone’s move to Hellas Verona, the Sardinians have etched their attention on Scamacca.

The reports have been confirmed by SportItalia pundit Alfredo Pedulia, who mentions that the deal will be finalized in the upcoming hours before the transfer window closes.

€25m worth of buyback clause is expected to be added in the deal but Sassuolo should also have the counter-option of triggering his clause since his contract with the Neroverdi lasts until June 2025.

Scamacca has appeared for just 12 minutes through Sassuolo’s two opening games of the new Serie A season.

He spent last season on loan at Genoa, where he scored 12 goals and made 2 assists in 29 appearances for the club.
