Calabria: “Milan Scudetto Most Beautiful Emotion of My Life”

Milan captain Davide Calabria, who was handed the armband after the departure of Alessio Romagnoli to Lazio, has expressed happiness in realizing his childhood dream of wearing it. The Rossoneri youth product graduated from the club’s Primavera system in 2015.

The 25-year-old Italy international spoke to DAZN and revealed his thoughts on a number of topics, including last season’s Scudetto win and his experience at the club so far.

However, he first mentioned his pleasure at receiving the captain’s armband.

“It’s a great emotion. I’ve been here since I was a child, it’s a dream come true. It’s impressive.”

Speaking of the Scudetto triumph – Milan’s first in a decade – the right-back described it as ‘the most beautiful emotion’ of his life and said he was always sure they would win despite some setbacks.

“It was the most beautiful emotion of my life. Someone thought we were crazy, but we always believed in it. The desire to win the Scudetto was in the air. We were sure we could win it.”

Brescia-born Calabria has been at the club since 2006 and thanked his mother for supporting his dreams.

“I arrived here when I was ten. In the first few months, I was in trouble because I was away from home, and it wasn’t easy. I told my mom that I didn’t know if I would be able to stay here, but she told me not to give up. She made so many sacrifices for me, I will always thank her for that.”

Davide Calabria has 184 appearances for the Rossoneri since being promoted to the first team back in 2015.
