Calhanoglu to Reconsider Milan Offer, Tonali Poised to Be Bought Out

Hakan Calhanoglu has not received strong offers besides the Al-Duhail one and is now contemplating accepting the previous Milan proposal. The Turk initially rejected €4M annual wages as he was looking for more. The Qatari club would double his salary, but he is not too keen on leaving Europe, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The attacker has a strong bond with Stefano Pioli, and the lack of credible alternatives could make him change his mind. He would still get a sizeable raise compared to his previous €2.5M salary. Juventus tracked him when Fabio Paratici was at the helm, but they changed course once Massimiliano Allegri took over. The other top clubs have not bid yet. He will be out of contract at the end of June and will decide between betting on a strong Euro or take the Rossoneri’s deal, even though it is lower than his requests. Milan would target Hakim Ziyech and Rodrigo De Paul if he did not re-up.

They have reached agreement with Brescia to acquire Sandro Tonali permanently. They got a €10M discount on the initial conditions by inserting youngster Giacomo Olzer and a small percentage of a future sale. They will pay a €10M fee, plus €5M bonuses, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Rondinelle would have had to give back part of last year’s €10M payment if he did not stay.

Like in January, Milan are eyeing Junior Firpo to fill the opening as Theo Hernandez’s backup. However, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will agree to let him leave on loan, the transfer market expert informed.
