Camara Following Napoli Loss: “We Must Keep Our Heads Held High”

Following the Giallorossi’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli within match-week eleven of the Serie A, Roma central midfielder Mady Camara provided his insight on the fixture in an interview.

Despite Mourinho’s side’s compact defensive play throughout the majority of the match, the capital club weren’t able to hold on as the Nigerian hit-man Victor Osimhen used his strength to to brush off Chris Smalling and fired a rocket towards the second post to seal all three points at the Stadio Olimpico.

While Roma lacked creativity and flare when in-possession, the Guinean midfielder was one of the stand-out players of the evening as he made crisp passes and was aggressive defensively within the middle of the park.

In an interview with Dazn, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, the former Olympiacos playmaker expressed his emotions after having to divulge a heart-breaking defeat in front of their home supporters:

“Now we have to keep our heads held high and think about the next match. On a personal level I think my teammates have helped me a lot to integrate into the team. This is football: helping your teammates and winning as much as possible. The team is the thing. more important. I think this match is a bit deceptive, in football you have to think about the next match. We will try to talk and be positive in view of the next match. “
