Can Milan Beat the Odds and Land the New Ajax Jewel?

On the heels of a busy January transfer session, Milan are already laying their plans for the upcoming summer market. Soualiho Meïté, Mario Mandzukic and Fikayo Tomori have all arrived last month to bolster Stefano Pioli’s squad. However, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are apparently still high on the youth revolution, and therefore Milan are tracking another young sensation in Brian Brobbey.

According to Calciomercato.com, the young striker is unwilling to renew his contract with Ajax, and therefore will be leaving the club by the end of the season.

The 19-year-old’s talent will definitely attract the interest of numerous European clubs, as he has already been labelled as a mixture between Romelu Lukaku and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The report believes that Milan are among the clubs that are interested in signing Brobbey once his contract with the Dutch champions expires by the end of the campaign.

Nonetheless, with the player being represented by Super-agent Mino Raiola, the youngster will be expecting nothing less than a financially tempting contract.

Whilst Maldini and Massara are keeping tabs on the player, the source feels that we could end up witnessing a repeat of the of Dani Olmo and Dominik Szoboszlai scenarios.

The two players mentioned above were both linked with a move to the Italian club, but the Diavolo were eventually beaten by RB Leipzig for their signatures.

Therefore, if Milan seriously want to secure the signing of Brobbey, they must act swiftly and pull out a tempting offer that would sway the youngster away from the rich German club.

The Dutch striker had spent most of his life within the Ajax academy, and although he’s still considered as a part of their Under-23 team, he has already began to play for the first team.

Brobbey has featured in five substitute appearances in the Dutch first division, scoring two goals in the process.
