Cannavaro: “De Ketelaere Can Become Milan’s New Kaká”

Napoli got off to an exciting start to their 2022/23 Serie A campaign, dispatching Hellas Verona 5-2 at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in an affair filled with controversy by the home crowd. Naples-born World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro, who started his career at the club, has backed them to aim for the Scudetto title.

Apart from the Scudetto, Cannavaro also spoke on a plethora of familiar and new faces in Serie A, including De Ketelaere, Romelu Lukaku, Giacomo Raspadori and Paul Pogba, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli).

“Bravo Napoli, They bridged the gap. Now they can aim for the Scudetto. Raspadori is the best young man on the market.”

The legendary defender dished the top signings of the other contenders.

Lukaku is strong but the home comers do not convince me, even if Inter have the most complete squad. I don’t know De Ketelaere very much but if Milan have decided to bet on him, then he can become the new Kaká. I like Pogba a lot but in recent years he has taken care of his image rather than of his performances on the pitch.”

Napoli visit Monza next for their second Serie A fixture at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
