Carles Perez Nears Roma Exit, La Liga Return Imminent

Spanish midfielder Carles Perez is on the verge of exiting Roma and returning back to his homeland after three sub-par years at the Stadio Olimpico. The La Masia youth product has been with the Giallorossi since 2019/20, registering 8 goals in 75 appearances. He is understood to not be in Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Spanish outfit Celta Vigo are close to securing his signature, having convinced him that he would be a starter for them. However, the La Liga minnows are in disagreement with Roma in terms of contract details, as they want Carles Perez on an initial loan. On the other hand, the Giallorossi wish to offload the midfielder to benefit off the earnings of a permanent deal.

However, most recent negotiations between the parties indicate that the Spanish club have accepted Roma’s proposal of a loan transfer with the obligation to buy the winger in the summer of 2023. He has a transfermarkt value of €6M. The Giallorossi have excelled this summer window, adding an impressive roster of transfers, including Paulo Dybala, Nemanja Matic and Gini Wijnaldum.
