Castillejo on Top of Genoa’s January Transfer Wishlist

Genoa are reportedly interested in signing Milan winger Samu Castillejo in January.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoblu are interested in making some signings in the upcoming transfer window and the 26-year-old is on top of their list.

Castillejo has been far from a regular for Milan this season so far, making only three appearances across all competitions. The winger has two assists to his name, both of them in the Rossoneri’s 3-2 win over Verona. An injury has sidelined Castillejo for a while and it may take a while before he is back in action.

Genoa have been struggling in the Serie A this season with a string of disappointing results that forced them to sack Davide Ballardini and appoint Andriy Shevchenko. The Ukrainian has seen the Rossoblu perform relatively better, having salvaged a point against Udinese last weekend.

Genoa are currently 18th in the league standings and need some signings in the January transfer window in order to survive in Serie A. Castillejo would be an ideal addition to their squad and he’d receive a lot more game time there.

However, Milan may not be willing to let go of the 26-year-old as he could add some depth to the club’s attack.
