CEO Barone Reveals Details on Fiorentina Exit Targets

Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone has shed light on three of the club’s most significant exit-linked players at the moment – Nico Gonzalez, Luka Jovic, and Sofyan Amrabat. Morocco’s Abdelhamid Sabiri is another name associated with a departure, but Barone has asked for focus as the Viola look to continue their season exploits following the 4-1 victory against Genoa on matchday one.

Barone spoke to Sky Sport (via Calciomercato) before Fiorentina’s UEFA Europa Conference League 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the hands of Rapid Wien.

“We thank Brentford that tried again today, but Nico Gonzalez is an important player for Fiorentina and for Italian football, he makes the difference and he’s not for sale. Amrabat is doing a personalized job. If there are players who aren’t happy, talk to me or Pradè and let’s try to sort things out. Jovic? Let’s see, they aren’t here today.”

Barone is not concerned regarding the potential exit of Sabiri, who was signed from Sampdoria in January but finished the past season in Liguria.

“No, there’s nothing, it’s totally made-up news. He has a little ailment. We are always ready to seize the opportunities that present themselves until the end of the market. We worked well, now we have to play.”

The Viola welcome Lecce next in the club’s first home league game of the season. They will however be wary against the relegation favorites, given their spirited 2-1 win vs Lazio on matchday one.
