Cesc Fabregas Reveals Interest in Departing Inter Midfielder

Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has confirmed the club’s ambition to capture the signature of outgoing Inter star Stefano Sensi. In an interview during the Footballweek event organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Barcelona superstar spoke of his lofty ambitions ahead of 2024/25.

After helping Como secure Serie A promotion for the first time in the club’s history, the Spaniard is keen to keep his side in the elite society. Achieving that feat will heavily depend on Lariani’s transfer dealings, considering a substantial gap in quality between the top flight and Serie B.

Several high-profile names have emerged as potential targets for Como. One of them is Inter man Sensi. Out of contract at the end of June, the 28-year-old will cut ties with the Scudetto holders after disappointing years, highlighted by recurring injury problems.

Despite his injury-hit stint at Inter, Sensi ranks high on Como’s list of targets. Fabregas is particularly keen on bringing the skilled playmaker to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

Obviously, I like Sensi a lot, I already saw at Inter under Antonio Conte that he had an incredible season,” the Como coach said, as quoted by Calciomercato. “We’ll see how the market develops and if there are any options that can become real.

Sensi’s career at Inter didn’t go to plan. Yet, he still has plenty to give to Italian football if only he can stay away from the treatment room. He showed some flashes of brilliance during a season-long loan at Monza in 2022/23.

Perhaps Como could be the right environment for the Inter flop to relive his glory days.
