Victor Osimhen not-so-subtly alluded to his departure toward the Premier League in an interview, and Chelsea are the early favorites to snap him up in a few months. The striker recently agreed to a new contract with a €120/130M release clause, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The striker has been granted freedom and behaviors rarely allowed to other players during the negotiation and this season in general. His numbers haven’t been as great as during their title-winning campaign, Il Mattino points out.
Osimhen talked to CBS Sports Golazo during AFCON, where Nigeria advanced to the knockout stage.
“At the end of the season, I think I have already made up my mind and know what I want to do with my career. Since I started, I’ve been the one taking my own decision. Everything is working out well for me. I already know the next step I want to take. So for now, I just want to finish strong, go relax somewhere with my daughter, and then finally come up with the decision I’ve already made.”
“I think 60 percent of everyone is arguing, or the rumor is going around about me linked to the Premier League. But… when you are one of the hottest strikers in the globe, you play this type of thing. Of course, it’s one of the biggest leagues in the world. Now I’m with Napoli and signed a new contract. I’m enjoying my time there, going through with it with the team.”

That’s more of a hint, and one has to wonder if he’ll backtrack his remarks quickly, as they cast a big shadow over the second half of their already challenging campaign right after the concerns were quieted down thanks to the extension.
