Chelsea Talent Casadei Details Transfer Market Decision

Cesare Casadei has been linked with a return to Serie A since he couldn’t find room at Chelsea, but the arrival of Enzo Maresca changed his fate. He spoke with TuttoSport. He was quizzed about the supposed interest by Napoli, Milan, and Juventus last summer.

“I was thrilled with his hiring since we already knew each other from my six-month spell at Leicester City. After talking with the coach, I was 100 percent certain that the right decision was for me to stay. He told me what he was thinking, and I had no doubts. I didn’t mull potential loans and won’t do it in January either. I couldn’t be prouder to play for Chelsea. My competitive spirit is one of the reasons why I decided not to leave.”

Casadei has played just twice so far in the Conference League and the Carabao Cup.

“I like to be considered an all-around midfielder since I have to take care of both phases: the build-up and the defensive one. I aim to become an important player for the Blues. I’ll always give my best and work hard in training to increase my playing time.”

Casadei, who’s an Inter product, revealed that he was a Milan fan growing up.

“Kaká was my idol, and I cheered for the Rossoneri. However, then I turned pro, and the Nerazzurri were my first team. I don’t hold a grudge for my departure. Every Italian player dreams of being called up by the national team. You have to deserve it first. I’m starring for the U-21 at the moment, and a few of my teammates have just been selected by Luciano Spalletti.”
