Giorgio Chiellini is back at Juventus in a front-office role. He shared his thoughts on the matter on X.
“I’m heading home even though in a different form. The black and white colors are part of me. I’ve always felt them inside me. This club has constantly represented the top in my personal and professional journey. I’m enthusiastic for this new adventure and aware of the responsibility it carries. I’m looking forward to contributing to bringing Juventus to new goals with the same passion as ever.”
Bonucci, who instead voiced his desire to become a coach and experienced a rather unceremonious exit, addressed Chiellini returning to Juventus to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via OneFootball).
“Giorgio and I have shared many years on and off the pitch. His character, his post-retirement ideas, and his college curriculum had hinted at what his role would eventually be even while we were still footballers. His experience in the US enriched him even more in terms of knowledge and relations. This is not a surprise for me and everybody that knows him.”
“Becoming an executive has always been his goal. He can surely give Juventus the sense of attachment and the expertise of the Bianconeri world he accumulated during his years as a player.”
Chiellini has been appointed as the Head of Football Institutional Relations. He will collaborate with the corporate area of the team and CEO Mauro Scanavino in particular, rather than with the technical one, at least for the time being.
