Juventus skipper Giorgio Chiellini was glad with his team’s result against Salernitana but has urged to maintain consistency.
The Bianconeri returned to winning ways by defeating the Granata in Salerno last night courtesy of goals from Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata. The former could have had another goal to his name when Juve were awarded a penalty but he skied his shot over the bar.
After the match, Chiellini praised his team’s performance and has urged them to be consistent ahead of upcoming encounters. The center-back told Juve’s official website: “We need a sense of responsibility, without doing anything extraordinary, but using our heads and being aware. We played with humility, because we couldn’t do otherwise.
“Now let’s think about Sunday, working day by day. There are many moments, Juventus has given so much to all of us, and it is also time to give back: we must stay united and come out of it all together, with serenity, balance and love.
“This evening we played well on this pitch, we had a good match, even if it should have been closed sooner. I always think about helping my teammates: I still have many small goals, I work for this. Now we have to find consistency between now and Christmas, to score as many points as possible.”
After defeats to Chelsea and Atalanta, Juventus needed a win badly and they got it last night. The Bianconeri are now seventh in the Serie A table with 24 points so far. Next up for Massimiliano Allegri’s side is a home fixture against 18th-placed Genoa.
