Federico Chiesa has officially bid farewell to Juventus and Serie A and completed his Liverpool transfer. He said his piece about how his exit unfolded in an Instagram post.
“The time has come to conclude this journey with the Bianconeri fans. It’d like to spend some words to thank you for the great affection you always showed, which I will carry in my heart.”
“At Juventus, I’ve grown as a man and player. You supported me in nice and difficult moments, and I’ll always be grateful for that. In the last four years, I had the chance to work with high-level players, coaches, and assistants. You’ve been like a family to me and, even in the most complicated periods, you helped bounce back. I’ll always cherish the joyful moments we shared.”
Chiesa didn’t shy away from the contract dispute that eventually led to his Juventus exit.
“I wish to clarify some things about my renewal. I’ve never received an offer from the team. Therefore, there was never a request by me or my entourage about a rise or a reduction of my salary. I was told I would no longer be part of the project even before starting to train with the group.”
In the end, the Bianconeri cashed in €12M plus €3M add-ons, recording a €3M loss.
