Chiesa on Premier League Chatter, Allegri, and Vlahovic

Federico Chiesa discussed his summer, the recovery from injury, and adapting to a new role in an interview with TuttoSport (via Fantacalcio).

“I feel fine, or rather, great. The rehab is in the rearview mirror. I’m at my peak physically and mentally. As for my position, it’s more of a perception that comes from the outside. I focus on working hard to improve every day, trusting the choice of the coach. I get along with everybody, including him. My goal is to beat my seasonal scoring record.”

Chiesa was linked to a few Premier League sides early in the summer.

“I didn’t hear any rumor and only talked with director Cristiano Giuntoli, with whom we concurred that the priority was the prepare for the season the best we could. English just helps me communicate better with Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah.”

“Juventus are in an unusual time of their history, but only because they took Europe from us after we conquered it on the pitch twice, as we would have played in the Conference League even with the penalization. We haven’t won in two consecutive years, which isn’t pleasing and affects the image of the team. Our goal is to finish in the top four. We’ll see in March whether we can aim higher.”

Chiesa dished on Dusan Vlahovic.

“We were great friends in Florence already since we were in the Primavera team. It was very nice to reunite here. We’ve begun well together up front.”
