Christensen and Kamara Rumored to Snub Serie A for La Liga

Multiple Serie A sides have been tracking Andreas Christensen and Boubacar Kamara, but neither is likely to transfer to Italy. Barcelona are one step away from capturing the Chelsea defender. Instead, Atletico Madrid are clear frontrunners for the Olympique Marseille starlet.

Inter and Milan were mildly linked to the Danish international. Especially the Nerazzurri set their sights on multiple free-agent defenders, as they might cash in one of their own in the summer. There was some chatter about the Rossoneri in January. However, they have always been keener on Sven Botman and Bremer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the center-back will soon ink a five-year contract with Barcelona. The Blaugrana bested Bayern Munich to sign him on a Bosman move. Chelsea tried to retain him, while the Italian teams did not really seem to be in the race lately.

Like Christensen, Kamara will probably pass on the opportunity to move to Serie A too, picking a different La Liga side, FootMercato reports. Roma energetically pursued him in the winter, but they could not sanction a deal with Olympique Marseille. They wound up acquiring Sergio Oliveira from Porto. The youngster’s salary requests were always too sizeable for the Giallorossi.

Milan and Juventus both eyed the youngster at some point in the last year. The Rossoneri saw him as a potential replacement for Franck Kessié early in the season. The Old Lady hunted him before signing Denis Zakaria. Instead, he has reached a verbal agreement with Atletico Madrid for a free transfer, the French site reports.
