Christian Eriksen Progressing Nicely, Set for Next Steps in Rehab

Christian Eriksen is currently in Milan and has been spotted by several fans during his walks through the Sempione Park. The Danish midfielder decided to spend time in Italy with his family after a few weeks in Copenhagen following his release from the hospital. He lives in the same building of new coach Simone Inzaghi in Moscova Street, and the two crossed paths on a few occasions, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

It will soon be three months since he collapsed on the pitch Finland game due to myocarditis. Eriksen was fitted with a heart started (IFD) to avoid further episodes. He has often visited with Simon Kjaer and Milan Danish executives Alex Rasmussen and Casper Stylsvig recently.

Eriksen will soon head back to Odense. He will have his next check-up with the cardiologists in a month. They are the primary responsible for his rehab, although they are in touch with the Inter doctor. If everything goes well, he will receive the green light to resume some light physical activity there.

That would not be possible in Italy, where the rules for those with IFD are stricter. It will take further tests to decide whether to remove it or keep it as a permanent solution. Eriksen could resume his playing career in Serie A only in the first case. Otherwise, Ajax and a few Danish sides would be happy to bring him in. But the decision will come in 2022 after a few more steps in the recovery process, the publication adds.
