Manchester City have reportedly made a late entrance to the transfer race between top European giants for Napoli stopper and Manchester United target Kim Min-jae. Apart from the Red Devils, Bayern Munich have been touted as surefire suitors to seal Min-jae’s signature, but the lure of playing for the Champions League winners and defending their treble status could be hard to ignore.
As per Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli), City will also look to spoil the advances of familiar foes Manchester United and Newcastle United, who have long been linked to the transfer of Min-jae. Guardiola is keen on strengthening his defense.
The South Korean defender’s future is set to be decided in the first week of July, when his €50M release clause activates. And City want to hijack the deal.
At the moment, reports have emerged of Bayern being in advanced negotiations with the Napoli management and the player’s entourage to secure the defender’s signature, having offered a rich five-year contract worth €17M gross per annum.
The agreement between Bayern and Kim Min-jae is at final stages, details to be sorted on 5 year deal. He’s prepared to accept, not signed yet ???

Manchester United also have seemingly tabled an initial offer, one that closely matches what Bayern submitted.
