Claudio Lotito Identifies New Lazio Sporting Director

Lazio are set to part ways with sporting director Igli Tare, and have quickly identified the Albanian executive’s successor at the Olimpico. There is likely to be an internal promotion within the Biancocelesti ranks, as youth development director Angelo Fabiani is expected to take over as the right-hand man of president Lotito.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Fabiani, who played a vital role in Salernitana’s promotion to Serie A on 2021, is highly admired by Lotito. Fabiani currently heads the youth system and functions as the coordinator of the Lazio Women team, having been appointed at the club in the summer of 2022.

61-year-old Fabiani has reportedly impressed Lotito and the Biancocelesti management with his scouting skills, thus making him a strong candidate to succeed Tare.

Tare, who joined Lazio in 2008, will see his tenure in the Lazio hierarchy end in a month’s time following a tumultuous season despite positive results on the field.
