Como Eye Up Bosman Deal for Experienced La Liga Defender

There’s no stopping for Como in the ongoing transfer window. In addition to completing several exciting deals and negotiating with Raphael Varane, they’ve added another household name to their shortlist.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Como are plotting a summer swoop for former Liverpool and Villarreal defender Alberto Moreno. The Spaniard is a free agent after his contract at Estadio de la Ceramica ran out last month.
Moreno is 32, but despite entering the autumn of his playing career, he could be a valuable addition to Como. The player is reportedly willing to join forces with his countryman Cesc Fabregas and help the newly-promoted outfit avoid swift relegation from Serie A.
Como have already signed the likes of Andrea Belotti and Gabriel Strefezza this summer. They’re currently in talks with Varane. After leaving Manchester United at the end of the last season, the Frenchman seeks a new home.
Despite drawing inquiries from Saudi Arabia, Varane seems enthusiastic about joining Como. Negotiations are progressing well. Varane’s arrival would probably be the most shocking piece of business in Serie A this summer.
But Como will not stop there. They see Moreno as another potential candidate to strengthen Fabregas’ backline on a Bosman deal. Though he’s spent most of his career playing at left-back, the Spanish star can operate in more advanced positions.
Moreno’s versatility would give Como more options on the left-hand side. Since there’s no competition in the market, the Italians could wrap this operation up quickly.
