Antonio Conte is once again in the Italian papers. This time, it is not for his antics, but rather for the job as Juventus coach. It is no secret that current coach Massimiliano Allegri is under pressure with the club’s poor start to the season. To that point, he could get the boot should things get worse from here.
Should things go that far for La Vecchia Signora, Conte, currently coaching Tottenham Hotspur, is favourite to take Allegri’s place at the Allianz Stadium. In the meantime, the 53-year-old responded to the rumours about his possible return to Juventus.
While he considered his mentioning to the Juve hot seat as a “mark of respect,” Conte claims to be happy in North London. This comes as little surprise, seeing that Spurs has started the season well. They find themselves joint second after seven Premier League games.
Conte was the Juventus coach from the summer of 2011 until 2014. He won the Scudetto in each of his three seasons with the club.
