Contract Extension from Juve in the Works for Rugani

Juventus center-back Daniele Rugani has been one of the many reasons why the Bianconeri have been able to keep pace atop the Serie A table, athough he has made just five appearances so far this season. Fabio Miretti’s solitary strikee against Fiorentina gifted Juve a fourth successive league victory, with a sixth consecutive clean sheet as icing on the cake for Max Allegri.

Rugani’s rock-solid performances have contributed much to Juve’s successes so far this campaign, and the upper management now want to reward the 29-year-old with a contract extension. As Tuttomercatoweb relay, although he’s featured just five times, they have been five displays of the highest level.

After the most recent outing at the Artemio Franchi, Allegri took some time to praise the stopper.

“Rugani has been at Juve for eigh years and knows what it means. He plays with the calm of a great veteran. He is underrated for his career. I think he is one of the best defensively.”

Juve have been able to rely on Rugani more often than not in recent campaigns, and they want to tie him down to an extended contract, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
