Contract Talks Set for Mixed Outcomes for Napoli Trio

Napoli are slated to announce the renewal of Victor Osimhen before the end of the year. However, the other key contract negotiations are stalling. The one with Piotr Zielinski, in particular, seems headed in the wrong direction.

According to Il Mattino, it’d be a surprise if he stayed put with the Azzurri at this point. The parties are on polar terms concerning his salary. Only a late turnaround, as it happened in the summer when he was close to moving to Saudi Arabia, could change the result.

Alex Meret is on an expiring deal, but Napoli will pick up their option and keep him at least till 2025. The club and his agent will attempt to come to terms on a longer one in the first months of next season.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has often been tipped to prolong his contract, as he hasn’t improved his initial one. However, everything has been quiet on it lately. The management and his representatives will kick the talks into high gear only at the end of the campaign.

Our Take on Napoli, Zielinski, Meret, and Kvaratskhelia

The whole Saudi Arabia affair postponed the Pole’s exit, as they outbid any other potential suitor. Only loyalty and familiarity could push him to accept reduced wages when he could get higher ones elsewhere and his side is set to hand a teammate a large amount of money. That’ll be a factor in other negotiations too.
