Corinthians Ignore European Advances for Talent Murillo

Several clubs, including Napoli and Fiorentina, have entered the race for Corinthians academy graduate Murillo Santiago Costa dos Santos, better known as just Murillo. The Viola have initiated concrete contacts for the 21-year-old, but no matter what, the Brazilian outfit does not intend to budge an inch.

Latest reports from Goal Brazil (via ViolaNews) indicate that the Paulista club is asking for a fee in the region of €18-20M, a third more than Fiorentina’s initial offer of €12M. Wolverhampton Wanderers have put forth a similar bid for Murillo.

However, the Viola can rest easy knowing that three other offers have already been rejected by Corinthians. Napoli, Wolves, and Nottingham Forest are the other clubs that have expressed interest in signing Murillo.

Murillo has been praised far and wide for his versatility, as the natural center-back is capable of starring on the left flank as part of a four-man backline or even as a defensive midfielder.
