Cristiano Ronaldo Wants Reinforcements to Stay at Juventus

Despite the recent statements by the executives, Cristiano Ronaldo will make a decision about his future only at the end of the season. He is open to staying at Juventus, but he wants a more competitive squad. The star and the management will have a summit to take stock of the situation in May, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Ronaldo has not asked out, nor has firmly committed to playing out the final year of his deal yet, although he is more likely to stay than to leave, the outlet adds. He would like some reinforcements, in particular he would love to reunite with Karim Benzema, or at least to have somebody with the same skill-set up front. He also believes that it is necessary to add a world class midfielder.

The striker will discuss the matters with the executives before leaving for Euro 2021. He is aware that, at age 36, he does not have many years at an elite level left and wants to ascertain to be in position to win. The rumor about his agent Jorge Mendes currently being in Turin to meet with the front office has been dismissed.

Real Madrid and PSG are monitoring the status of Ronaldo, but they are operating on multiple fronts and have not zeroed in on him. Gazzetta believes that the Galacticos would rather acquire Kylian Mbappè and that their pursuit is one of the reasons behind the difficulties of the negotiation to extend his contract. The French club, instead, should they decide make a high-profile addition, seems keener on Lionel Messi than on the Portuguese ace.
