D’Ambrosio Analyzes Inter Year and Previews UCL Clashes

Danilo D’Ambrosio admitted defeat in Serie A but added that Inter have a strong chance to go far in the Champions League. He talked to Sky during a charity event.

“We have to be realistic and say that the draw went well. There are teams that are stronger than us, but we are on a level playing field with Benfica. We can reach the final. When you wear this jersey, you always shoot for the best possible objective. That’s our dream, but there’s a difference between that and a real goal. You have to work hard to achieve them, and that’s what we’ll need to do in these matches.”

D’Ambrosio took stock of Inter’s problems so far.

“We are trying to find a solution game after game, giving our best individually and collectively. Napoli lost just two matches this season. There’s nothing to argue about that, as the numbers speak for themselves. When we beat them, we thought we were a strong team, and we still do. However, our peaks and valleys haven’t allowed us to be in a more comfortable position and stay close to them, which is what we wanted.”

The veteran closed with some remarks about Victor Osimhen and a possible return to the region where he was born, Campania.

“He’s a great striker, as he possesses hunger, desire, and stamina and never stops. He’s a handful for opposing defenders. I will head back to Naples in 2025. I’ll have to pay many dinners to my friends, as I had wagered we would catch up with them in the standings in November and December.”
