Daniele Orsato to Officiate Inter vs Sampdoria, Nerazzurri Fans Unhappy

Inter face Sampdoria in Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as the Serie A season resumes after the international break. Inter are level on points with Napoli, Lazio, Milan and Roma at 6 points from two games. Referee Daniele Orsato will oversee proceedings in the port city.

The appointment will be his first match in charge of a Nerazzurri clash in over three years, when he last took charge of the Milan side’s disappointing 3-2 defeat at the hands of Juventus in April 2018.

Apparently, his appointment has angered Nerazzurri faithful due to his officiating during the Derby d’Italia clash three years ago, according to reports from La Repubblica (via SempreInter). He sent off Matias Vecino for a tackle on Mario Mandzukic after being prompted to take the decision by VAR, before he failed to penalize Miralem Pjanic for a second time for his encounter with Rafinha in the second half.

Inter will look to keep up their momentum in the crucial match against Il Doria, in a bid for their second successive Scudetto title.
