Danilo Hails Journey that Led to Juventus, Talks Up Vlahovic

Danilo has been a key player in multiple positions for Juventus after shaking off a thigh injury. He also leveled the critical clash with Atalanta in the stoppage time. The defender dished on such action: “I could sense it when I went in the box. Paulo Dybala swung in a nice cross, and I managed to score a very important goal for us.”

The veteran opened up about multiple topics in an interview with DAZN: “When I became a professional footballer, I thought I would play for the same team for a long time. Instead, this long journey helped me a lot and made me join the Bianconeri at the right time.”

Danilo complimented his new Juventus teammate Dusan Vlahovic: “He can become a great champion. Since day one, I saw in practice that he has the drive to never settle for anything.”

The Brazilian international spoke highly of Pep Guardiola too: “The players that have the luck of working with him go through a coaching class if they are intelligent enough to realize it.”

Danilo wore the captain’s armband for the first time since joining Juventus against Fiorentina, as a few veterans were not on the pitch. According to Tuttosport, the 30-year-old has quickly become an integral part of the locker room after his arrival in 2019. The brass of the Bianconeri would be glad to keep him in Turin until the end of his career. His current contract expires in 2024, and the front office is ready to offer him an extension.
