Danilo is set to formally prolong his stay at Juventus. He heavily alluded to it in an interview with TuttoSport, despite stopping short of announcing it.

“Since I’ve been here, I’ve learned that you are either a Bianconero or you are not. The work culture is the peculiarity of this team. You need to be willing to improve each day. That’s the main aspect I noticed and treasured here.”

“All my seasons in Turin have been weird. First, COVID-19 hit, and then this point deduction. It was tough for us to accept it. But we realized we couldn’t do anything about it if not give our best in every game. It’s February, so there is still time to do well. We are in the running for Coppa Italia and Europa League.”

Danilo has often worn the captain’s armband given Leonardo Bonucci’s injuries.

“The coach decided before the Inter match. He massively contributed to making me who I am inside the club. It’s an honor. The job includes giving pre-game speeches to the squad, spending time to help your teammates, and discussing with the staff. I’ve always had this kind of attitude.”

“I’m sure this is just a phase for Juventus. They have done something extraordinary in the last 10/15 years. It’s not a matter of money or status for me, as I care the most about working in a place where I feel good.”

Danilo commented on his contract.

“Both parties want to stick together, and we have a nice relationship. I think there will be important news in the next few days.”

According to Goal, the veteran has already inked his new deal, which will last until 2025 and contain a one-year option.
