Rodrigo De Paul has often been touted as a target for the top Serie A sides in recent windows, but the talks never went too far due to his price tag. The Argentine dismissed such a notion after the loss to Inter on Tuesday speaking to Sky (via Fantacalcio).
“No, I’ve never been close to Juventus or to coming back to Italy in general. I’m happy at Atletico Madrid and want to stay here for a long time.”
De Paul dished on the clash with the Nerazzurri.
“We faced the strongest team in Italy at the moment. They were the favorites since they made it to the final last season. The numbers confirm that too. They are surely in great form and one of the top sides across Europe. We go home a little sad due to the defeat, but these rounds last 180 minutes. We can change the outcome at home.”
De Paul moved to Spain from Udinese for €35M in 2021 and has racked up 117 appearances, 7 goals, and 15 assists since.
He had been linked to Juventus even during the most recent window while the two sides were negotiating the Moise Kean deal.
