Del Piero Jovially Offers His Ankle to Injured Neymar

Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has given his say on Neymar’s foot injury that he was afflicted with during Brazil’s opening game against Serbia. He was fouled nine times, the most of any player at the World Cup until that match was played, as he ended the game with a swollen foot.

“The genetics of today’s players say that they are more harder, stronger and faster than before. This year we see much tougher fights. I really wish Neymar the best, I would like to see him again on the pitch,” said Del Piero. (via Tuttomercatoweb)

The Bianconeri icon went on to add a touch of fondness in his get well soon message, offering his ankle to the injured Brazilian.

“My friend Neymar, if you need my ankle, I am happy to share it with you. I’m very sorry about the injury, if you need it, I’m happy to lend it to you because I’d just like to see you on the pitch again.”

Neymar missed the win against Switzerland, and is also expected to sit out of the final group clash against Cameroon. The Selecao have already qualified for the knockout stages with a match to spare.
